1) Do not put ANYTHING in an e-mail that you would not want to see on a billboard.
* Personal Comments.
* Chain Letters
* Junk mail
2) Assume the person or persons you are writing to know NOTHING about your content.
3) Use Discretion when generating an e-mail.
* Don't Write with your emotions.
* Use Carbon Copy and Blind Carbon Copy as appropriate
* Remember that some things need to be discussed in person
4) Remember that e-mail is a transportable medium.
* E-Mail can be Stored
* E-Mail can be Forwarded
* E-Mail can be Copied
* E-Mail can be Printed
5) Practice Good Business Ethics
* Encryption
* Protect Company Information
* Empty Trash - PURGE OLD E-Mail
* Use BCC for Bulk Outgoing E-Mail
* Use Appropriate Disclaimers
6) Attachments
* Name Appropriately
* Don't Send in Bulk - Pull to a Web site
* Remember that Size Matters
7) THINK about what you are sending
* Is it appropriate
* Is my grammar, spelling, and punctuation correct
* Will this be a benefit to all concerned
REMEMBER - This is your BUSINESS E-Mail - Your Livelihood depends on this!
